Wedding photographs across the decades.
Many of us have an album full of wedding photographs. Here are a few in my own personal collection. Enjoy a trip through time.
Above is my own wedding in the mid eighties. The height of fashion at the time..The above photograph was taken in 1962. It is of my husbands aunt and his grandmother. The gown is a traditional long white dress to the floor with a veil. This is the wedding above of my husband's mother and father in 1953. A long traditional wedding dress in white with a veil. Alongside the wedding cake.
This looks like a 1940s war wedding. But I have no idea on who it is.
A wedding photo from 1937. It has my father in law as a page boy. The wedding is of Mary Weaver marrying Alfred Walker.
From 1957, The wedding of my uncle. Again a traditional white wedding dress with a veil. Taken alongside a two tier wedding cake
Not sure who this is a photograph of above. He looks very much like my great grandfather. But that is not the woman he married and he appears not to have married my great grandmother. So this is a mystery..
This wedding took place in 1925, the couple are my grandfather and grandmother. Very 1920s wedding dress in style with a just below knee wedding dress and a dropped waist.
This is a wedding photograph with the groom in a military suite. I do not know who this couple are. But they are from the Hart side of my family.
Again another unknown wedding photograph from my Hart side. Did work it out to be from the 1930s.
This was a 1967 wedding photograph outside Birmingham Register Office. It is of my Uncle Dennis and his wife Vera.
From 1944, the wedding photograph during the second world war. My Uncle Dan and his wife Elsie. Taken in London.
My parent's wedding photograph in 1959.
Last but not least an Edwardian wedding photograph taken in 1902. My grandparents. They separated later in life due to his drinking and violent behaviour. They are the couple sitting down.
